  1. Gena, I think your post is honest. Thank you. It really does impact market value to have blight in a neighborhood. It’s sad to think that an unkempt front yard with debris can really affect a neighborhood (and even invite more crime too). This is a classic example of the “broken window theory” too (one broken window not taken care of ends up leading to another issue…. which leads to another issue….)

    This brings up how important it is to build good relationships with neighbors. Additionally, we see here how crucial it is to be a part of the community instead of isolated. Isolation just does not work.

    I’m curious to hear from anyone who has ideas for how to talk with neighbors about junky properties.
